In the example cited: Wells Fargo doesn't normally have 2FA. Only issue is that time for ACH take 2-3 days. I tried it and if the user is tech savvy, he/she will login and see the deduction. Its more on LUCK.
I tried this way like 2-3 years back with WU, COINBASE. PAYPAL etc... My badluck had the logs where client checked and it got reversed.
