Yes I believe you are correct. Finally somebody who knows what they are talking about!! So are these still relevant, or have they been replaced by something better? I first got this about 5 years ago but it was last used (and broken) 3+ yrs ago. Any Idea where the firmware comes from? And what about the data file that I have from the microSD card? Although I'm pretty sure the data contains mostly expired info by now. Any more info would be awesome. Thanks.

Well I acquired it from Armenians, but I'm almost positive that they purchased these. They did not make it themselves.
