ATM: A question for whoever cares!

Hello ^^
Let me introduce myself, I am a beginner hat malware dev who wants to dig the path towards light (education)^^. I have exp in programming in many languages (C/C++,python,..etc) So, I am a beginner in weaponizing them
Now come to my question,
I want my next project to be related to ATMs
I know the mission is not easy , but it can be done ! I started collecting as much data as I can, I reached some neat analysis which can make the picture good. I also got the leaked manual of NCR. What stopping me now is how will I test this !
As far as I got, real ATMs have xfs interface (msxfs.dll) which will import and work, but HOW can I get this ?!
How can I make even an emulation which makes this task possible!
Any guides/advises/...etc is welcomed ^^
