a skimmer is a data recorder or a sound recorder
a simple mp3 can become a skimmer
all what recorded sound can become a skimmer
a mag head is needed to read data on magnetic stripe
why sound record is better than data
because you can always recover it from sound, even if data are damaged
even if technologie get smaller, is always just a data or sound record
insert skimmer are just simple sound recorder connected to a mag head
the mag head is like the microphone of magneticstripe
so connecting any mag head to a microphone and record when you swipe and you get your data
after that you have to decode it thats it
just simple as that.
so the first step would be to buy a sound recorder of 10 euros or found in your house from old things if you have, and to connect a mag head, swipe on magnetic stripe and see what happened to understand the base
today is exactly the same but at lower level, little component that's it
so a skimmer dont cost 3000 euros to make it

read is easy and is exactly what we talk, for record stripe on card i prefer buy a msr and thats it, is easy but is precision, to make an insert skimmer you would need a real atm reader so you can test your tool on it
last card reader have all the security inside, when you see hole on a skimmer is most of case to get away of sensor present inside the reader thats it
