Getting Tender not Allowed Msg (never gave me before)

I'm starting to get tender not allowed at certain stores recently wondering if anyone has info on why? Always used this way and always worked but not it's not.
Can u hard code a register to not accept certain forms of payment? Anything will help. Based in US
