Is it required to write track 1 of the dump to be able to swipe?

no it does not, depence on country, some terminals show name from track 1, but to be honest you don't need it, altough if you need it there places who generates them cheap.

Like Kristiano said track1 contains personal info and youre name, theres plenty of software that generates it. If youre going to swipe you should program it to have name on the card otherwise it might look suspecious although POS accepts dumps witout t1 but ATMs and bank machines dont, its gona be an instant decline
