Is embossing a card required for in store purchases? I want to swipe in stores using a prepaid card. Since this card is already embossed, will then just writing new t1/t2 info be good enough for a in store transaction ? Looking to use at Best Buy/ Walmart’s.

Not all cards are embossed but even if they're not, the numbers still are written with another material than the plastic of the card.
