По поводу сего девайса - да у него более гражданский уклон, но много вопросов от новичков из разряда (как проверить атм на защиты и не про..ть скиммер) - для них это решение, те кто работает и в теме - могут и более простой и дешевой тулзой выяснить, что установлена защитная пластина.

А применять можно не только для этого, но и в качестве теста на "легавого", т.е. перед тем как снять свой дип, если есть опасения, что его обнаружили (отсутсвует камера или пинпад, подозрительные типы трутся или просто очко играет).
Приходишь со своей картой и детектором как обычный гражданин и не шифруясь проверяешь на месте ли твое устройство. Если тебя там ждут то полюбому прихватят, увидив, что ты какую-то хрень в АТМ суешь, а у тебя все в рамках закона - пришел бабки снять, а это скиммер детектор.
